Named after one of Austria's most important economists of the post-war period and a former JKU Rector, Kurt W. Rothschild, the School strives to combine applied statistics and economics in an effort to respond to questions pertaining to the economy and social policy.

The Opening Ceremony at the JKU Circus of Knowledge

November 9, 2021 - The new JKU School opened with a presentation by Prof. Michèle Tertilt (University of Mannheim), followed by a round table discussion featuring Prof. Dr. Tobias Thomas (General Director Statistics Austria), Assoz. Univ. Prof. Dr Helga Wagner (Medical Statistics and Biometry), and Univ. Prof. Dr. Rudolf Winter-Ebmer (Institute for Economics) on: "Statistics and Economy - Evidence-Based Economic and Health Policy".
